Bio

Megan Lange is a singer-songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta.

Growing up in a musical family, Megan always loved music, but her journey to fully embracing it took time. She began playing piano at the age of four, studying and performing classical repertoire through the Royal Conservatory of Music. At 15 she earned her Level 10 Comprehensive Certificate and has been teaching piano since then. She also played saxophone and piano in her school concert and jazz bands.

As a child she was always singing and writing songs with her brother, but never thought of pursuing music as a career. As she explored other paths, music remained an integral part of her life. She continued teaching piano and accompanying at a local church while obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the University of Alberta. Towards the end of her degree she started experimenting with piano composition, and recorded four songs that became her first EP ‘Movements’ (December 2023). This project sparked her curiosity in recording music, and three months later she released her first single ‘Anyways…’ (March 2024), written and produced alongside her brother, Nick Lange. Shortly after, she started singing at local open mics and discovered her love of performing. Now wholeheartedly pursuing her passion, Megan has continued to write, record, and perform original music, including two more singles, ‘Mesmerized’ (April 2024) and ‘Hard to Dream’ (December 2024). In 2024, Megan performed at several venues around Edmonton, including 99ten, The Rec Room, and Felice Noir.

Megan’s songwriting comes from a place of introspection and vulnerability, culminating in a style that is both soft and soulful. She grew up listening to jazz, classical, and soul music. Her sound is influenced by artists like Adele, Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, and Norah Jones.
